New York: Senator Bob Menendez, head of the US Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, expressed concern over the human rights situation in Pakistan.

Senator Bob Menendez in a meeting with Pakistani American Dr. Asif Mehmood said: “I want stability, not riots in Pakistan,” showing concern about innocent Pakistani-Americans arrested in Pakistan.

On the other hand, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) American leaders Sajjad Barki and Atif Khan met US Senator John Cornyn.

US based PTI leaders claim that Senator Cornyn has said that he will take up the matter in the US Senate.

Moreover, Sheila Jackson—head of Pakistan Caucus in the US House of Representatives—has also expressed concern over the situation in Pakistan.

Sheila Jackson said peaceful protesters should be protected.
