36.62 million tons of cement were sold in the period from July to April, which is 15% less than the same period of the previous financial year.


Islamabad: Cement sales in Pakistan have declined by 15 percent on annual basis in the first 10 months of the current financial year.
According to All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association, 36.62 million tons of cement were sold in the period from July to April, which is 15% less than the same period of the previous financial year.
The report stated that the sale of 42.66 million tons of cement was recorded in the country in the same period of the last financial year.
Preliminary estimates show the sale of cement in Pakistan in May 2023 was 3.22 million tons, whereas it was 3.15 million tons and the different is of 2%.
According to statistics, in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year, the total volume of cement exports has been recorded at 4.07 million tons, which is 18 percent less than the same period of the previous fiscal year.
On the other hand, during the same period of the previous financial year, cement exports were recorded at 4.97 million tons. The sales of 0.61 million tons of cement are estimated in the month of May which is higher than in May 2022 in which it was recorded 0.17 million tons.
