Elon Musk's china trip fuels speculation of US presidential ambitions
Elon Musk's visit to China has garnered attention and excitement among Chinese citizens.
Beijing: Tesla CEO Elon Musk's recent visit to China has captured attention and generated excitement among Chinese citizens, with some even expressing their desire for him to become the President of the United States.
Musk's trip to China, his first in three years, included meetings with Chinese state officials and business leaders, although the specific agenda remains undisclosed.
The Chinese government, through a statement from the foreign ministry, welcomed Musk and other business leaders seeking mutually beneficial cooperation.
Chinese social media users praised Musk as a global pioneer and drew comparisons to Jack Ma, co-founder of Alibaba Group.
While Musk's interactions with Chinese state officials, including Foreign Minister Qin Gang and commerce and industry ministers, focused on topics such as electric vehicle development, the overall discussions remain largely unknown.
Other prominent US business leaders, such as Apple CEO Tim Cook, JP Morgan's Jamie Dimon, and Starbucks' Laxman Narasimhan, have also visited China recently.
Amidst ongoing commercial tensions between the US and China, Musk's trip has attracted heightened interest.
Photos from his dinner with Zeng Yuqun, chairman of CATL, showed an extravagant 16-course meal with a menu referencing Musk's Chinese name and praising Tesla as a groundbreaking company in the automotive industry.
