World observes Global Day of Parents today

Global Day of Parents is being observed across the world on Thursday (today).

The theme for the Day this year is Building Stronger Families for a Better Future.

The day is celebrated every year on June 1 as it holds massive importance as it honors the vital part of parents in raising their children and shaping society as a whole.

The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) declared 1994 as the International Year of the Family when the Economic and Social Council and Commission for Social Development called upon the Secretary-General to prioritize family-related issues.
