Pakistan reports over 100 COVID-19 deaths after one day, toll rises to 16,453
Islamabad: Pakistan has reported 137 deaths and 5,445 new cases of coronavirus in one day as the third wave of the pandemic continued to rage across the country.

According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 5,445 cases of coronavirus were reported while 137 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 16,453.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 766,882.
As many as 667,131 patients have recovered from the disease with 4,494 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 273,566 in the province with 7,561 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 273,466 in the province, while the death toll has reached 4,556.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 107,309 in the province with 2,920 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 21,000 confirmed cases while 225 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 15,741 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 442. On the other hand, there are 5,191 cases in GB with 104 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 70,609 cases in the capital city while 645 people have lost their lives.
