Federal cabinet to meet today
It is reported that Finance Minister Ishaq Dar will brief the cabinet on the budget proposals.
Islamabad: The meeting of federal cabinet headed by Prime Minister Muhammad Shahebaz Sharif is scheduled to take place today (Friday) at 3:00 pm in Parliament House.
Earlier, a special meeting of the federal cabinet was scheduled to be held at 2:00 pm.
According to reports, the proposals of the budget 2023-24 will be presented in the meeting of federal cabinet. The cabinet meeting will take a final decision regarding the increase in salaries and pensions of government employees.
It is also reported that Finance Minister Ishaq Dar will brief the cabinet on the budget proposals, while May 24 and June 7 decisions of Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) will be ratified in the cabinet meeting.
It should be noted that the budget session of the National Assembly will be held at 4:00 pm in the Parliament House. Senator Ishaq Dar will present the budget for the next financial year 2023-24, which will be the second budget of the coalition government and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
