Sarwar highlights dire need for reforms in justice system
PML-Q will emerge major political party of Punjab, says Shafay Hussain along with party’s Chief Organizer.
Lahore: Chaudhry Sarwar, the chief organizer of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), stressed on Wednesday the critical need to enhance the justice system in the country.
Speaking at a press conference alongside PML-Q's Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, Sarwar acknowledged the youth as the backbone of their party, welcoming the participation of minority youth within their ranks.
Reflecting on the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, Sarwar urged the nation to question whether it has fulfilled the Quaid's vision. He assured the minority communities that if the PML-Q comes to power, they will vigorously advocate for their rights.
Sarwar expressed his pride in the inclusive approach he adopted during his tenure as the Punjab governor, where celebrations of various religious festivals were held at the Governor House.
In a separate statement, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain addressed the situation of former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, expressing the party's desire for his prompt release and mentioning the provision of necessary facilities to him while in jail.
Hussain emphasized the PML-Q's commitment to get majority in Punjab, stating that the party is conducting district-wise meetings with their candidates to strengthen their position in the province. He underlined the significance of democracy and called for its further consolidation, highlighting the pivotal roles of political parties, citizens, and the media.
Drawing a comparison with neighboring countries, Hussain remarked on their progress and contrasted it with the persistent challenges faced by Pakistan. He also called for the swift prosecution of those responsible for the May 9 riots, particularly individuals involved in attacks on military installations, stressing the importance of bringing them to justice.
