A powerful blast near a hotel on the city's Zarghun Road Wednesday night killed at least killed 3 persons and bruised 9 people.

Several other injured were shifted to the nearest hospital.

According to police, the blast took place inside a hotel’s parking however investigation is being carried to further probe the incident.
Media sources indicate the blast was caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) that targeted a hotel’s parking in which high-profile political figures including foreigners were staying.
The blast killed at least one person and wounded eight others, though authorities may provide updated casualty numbers in the coming hours. Security personnel have cordoned off the area. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the explosion.
Heightened security and road closures may continue near the blast site for investigations.
