Karachi: In a tragic incident, a woman was shot dead while her husband sustained injuries at their doorstep for resisting an armed robbery near Liaqat Abad in Karachi.

The incident took place close to a superstore, where the deceased Nighat Naseem and her husband were leaving their house when one armed motorcyclist stopped by, knocked the window of their vehicle and tried to force his way into the car, apparently to look for some valuables.
The couple resisted it, following which the suspect shot them and fled with all valuables.
Police and rescue teams reached the spot after getting information and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital where the woman didn’t sustained her injuries and succumbed to death.
He fired one shot at point-blank range before escaping, the officer added.
Police started investigation into the incident and said they are in the process of looking for surveillance footage and potential witnesses.
Initial investigation revealed that the woman was a former principal of a well-known school.
However, no FIR about the murder was registered at the police station for the time being.
