FIA registered money laundering against the former Chief Minister.


Lahore: Special Central Court in Lahore has granted bail to former Chief Minister Pervez Elahi.
The case of money laundering against him was filed by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
The bail hearing took place in the Special Central Court where Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader had requested bail.
The court has approved Pervez Elahi's bail.
He had filed the bail application through his lawyer after his arrest.
Notably, a local court in Lahore had granted bail to Pervez Elahi, the former Chief Minister of Punjab, in a case related to irregularities in appointments in the Punjab Assembly.
Following this, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) filed a money laundering case against Chaudhry Pervez Elahi and his son Moonis Elahi.
Request for Contempt of Court A request for contempt of court has been made to hear the case of former Chief Minister of Punjab, Pervez Elahi, for not providing facilities in jail.
Justice Muhammad Waheed Khan of the Lahore High Court will hear the case on June 26.
