Quetta Serena Hotel explosion was a suicide attack, confirms Sheikh Rasheed
Quetta: Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has confirmed that the blast at the Serena Hotel was a suicide attack.

While addressing media in Islamabad, the interior minister confirmed that the initial investigation has revealed the blast, that took place in the parking lot of the hotel and claimed five lives, was a suicide attack.
“More than 60 kg explosive material was used in the blast. We have asked Chief Secretary to immediately investigate the blast. 22 security organizations have been put on high alert,” he added.
Sheikh Rasheed further stated that the elements who cannot digest progress of Pakistan are trying create unrest in the country.
“In the last ten days, around 200,000 to 300,000 social media accounts were formed from India to target Pakistan,” he added.
He added that Balochistan and Gwadar are future of Pakistan and reiterated that all these attacks are a failed attempt to destabilize country.
“We will thwart all evil designs being hatched in India against Pakistan with the help of our great armed forces and intelligence agencies,” he said.
A powerful blast near a hotel on the city's Zarghun Road Wednesday night killed at least killed five persons and injured several others. The blast took place inside a hotel’s parking however investigation is being carried to further probe the incident.
Media sources indicated the blast targeted a hotel’s parking in which high-profile political figures including foreigners were staying.
