Masks not needed for Oscar attendees during telecast
The 2021 year’s Academy Awards scheduled for Sunday, 25th April will be in-person and participants will not be required to wear face masks while they are seated in the main showroom and on camera.

According to details, there are multiple changes in this year’s Oscar ceremony; from limiting the audience to reducing the official crew members who will be covering the entire ceremony.
“We are determined to present an Oscar like none other while prioritizing the public health and safety of all those who will participate”, said a spokesperson from Academy.
After listing down the names of presenters and nominees, the Academy representatives in a Zoom meeting disclosed that the face masks will not be a requirement during the live ceremony.
“The guests and presenters will not wear masks while the camera is rolling.”
However, the masks will only be made compulsory while the attendees are not on camera.
The news flash was highlighted after the Zoom meeting in which Academy representatives took a stance that as the ceremony is going to be held in Dolby Theatre, Downtown LA—it will be treated as a TV/Film production so the Academy won’t ask the attendees to wear masks.
Following the protocols of COVID-19, a special team will be deployed for ensuring SOPs while testing kits will also be used for on-spot results.
The Academy has also limited the number of attendees to 170 members with three photographers and a limited number of press outlets allowed to cover the red carpet entrants.
However, the virtual interviews will be conducted by Lara Spenser of Good Morning America backstage.
The upcoming Oscar 2021 ceremony is going to be one like never seen before.
