IG Islamabad tenders apology for arresting Shireen Mazari in a contempt case.


Islamabad: Inspector General of Police (IG) Islamabad, Akbar Nasir Khan, has issued a formal apology to the Islamabad High Court in the contempt of court case regarding the arrest of former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader, Shireen Mazari, despite a court order.
During the hearing of the contempt of court case against IG Islamabad, Akbar Nasir Khan, he submitted his reply to the Islamabad High Court.
In his response, IG Islamabad expressed his deep regret and apologized for the violation of the court order.
He assured the court that necessary measures have been taken to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.
IG Nasir Khan revealed that Sub-Inspector Haider Ali, Constables Sohail, Faisal, and Waqas, along with Lady Constables Sundus and Marvi, were involved in the arrest of Dr. Mazari.
He also clarified that the police were unaware of the court order prior to the arrest.
