No progress as PPP, PML-N plan to meet again
The sources privy to the development say that both the parties are likely to hold another round of talks tonight in Dubai.
Islamabad: The deadlock still persisted between Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) during their second round of meeting in Dubai, the sources privy to the development said on Tuesday.
The sources said that the top leadership of both the parties would meet again to reach any point of mutual understanding amid the political differences.
Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari are currently staying in Dubai to engage in further discussions with Nawaz Sharif and other senior PML-N leaders.
They said that PML-N Supremo Nawaz Sharif, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari held discussion in Dubai, with the main focus on the matters related to upcoming elections.
The PPP, the sources said, did not take up discus the topic of seat adjustment during the meeting with the PML-N leadership. However, Zardari discussed the idea of charter of economy with the PML-N’s top leadership. Both sides also discussed the caretaker set up and future action plan, said the sources, pointing out that the PPP top brass put their party's stance regarding the upcoming general elections before the PML-N, and expressed their preference for holding them in either October or November.
The dissolution of the assemblies, they said, also came under discussion that whether these assemblies should be dissolved before the due date or not. The other PML-N and the PPP leaders were also expected to join the ongoing talks in UAE, they added.
