Katrina Kaif withdraws from Farhan Akhtar's "Jee Le Zaraa"
The latest reports suggest that Kiara Advani and Anushka Sharma have been considered for replacement.
Mumbai: In what can be said a major development in the Bollywood industry, renowned actress Katrina Kaif has decided to step back from Farhan Akhtar's upcoming road trip film, "Jee Le Zaraa", the Indian media reported on Monday.
While no official confirmation was released yet, multiple sources suggest that both Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra have chosen not to be a part of the film.
As a result, the film's production team is currently engaged in discussions to consider Kiara Advani and Anushka Sharma as potential replacements.
The initial announcement of "Jee Le Zaraa" had generated immense excitement among fans, as it featured Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, and Alia Bhatt in leading roles. Audiences were eager to experience another captivating road trip film after the success of the iconic "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara." Notably, "Jee Le Zaraa" marks Farhan Akhtar's directorial comeback after his acclaimed film, "Dil Chahta Hai."
According to the latest reports, the shooting of "Jee Le Zaraa" has been temporarily postponed. The reports indicate that Priyanka Chopra was unable to allocate her dates for filming in 2023 due to her Hollywood commitments. She subsequently proposed rescheduling the shoot to 2024.
While Farhan Akhtar was accommodating, Alia Bhatt is already committed to other projects, including "Ramayana" and "Baiju Bawra," which are slated for filming in 2024. Given the demanding nature of these projects, Alia Bhatt could not align her schedule for the following year.
As a result of these challenges, Farhan Akhtar has made the decision to delay the production of "Jee Le Zaraa" until all the necessary elements fall into place and the timing is favorable.
