There will be peaceful demonstrations and recitation of Holy Quran in all the markets of Karachi.


Islamabad: Yaum-e-Taqaddus-e-Quran will be observed today (Friday) across the country to lodge protest against desecration of Holy Quran in Sweden.
The day was announced during a meeting on July 7 held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
In this regard, peaceful protest demonstrations will be staged all over the country during which people belonging to different walks of life will take part to express their resentment over the desecration of holy Quran in Sweden.
Religious scholars belonging to different schools of thoughts will throw light on the sanctity of the holy Quran during their sermons of Friday prayers.
The traders of Karachi announced that markets of the city will remain closed from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm for protest. The main protest of the business community on the occasion will be held at Regal Chowk, Sadar from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

It is pertinent to note that earlier on June 28, an incident of burning and desecration of Holy Quran took place outside the mosque of Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, on the day of Eid-ul-Adha.
Under strict security of the local police, the Iraqi citizen burned the Holy Quran outside the mosque and desecrated the holy book of Muslims.
Muslims around the world are protesting against the desecration of the Holy Quran.
