Mussarat Hilali has taken the oath as a Supreme Court judge in Pakistan.
Islamabad: The swearing-in ceremony of Justice Mussarat Hilali as a Supreme Court judge took place, with Chief Justice Omar Ata Bandial administering the oath to her.
Justice Mussarat Hilali is the second female judge to be appointed to the Supreme Court, following Justice Ayesha Malik.
The parliamentary committee overseeing the appointment of judges granted approval to Justice Mussarat Hilali's appointment as a Supreme Court judge.
Meanwhile, the recommendation for Justice Mussarat Hilali's appointment was made by Justice Qazi Faez Isa.
Last month, President Arif Alvi approved the appointment of Justice Mussarat Hilali as the acting Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court, in accordance with Article 175-A(13) of the Constitution.
