Sindh govt lodges FIR against suspect for sexually assaulting girl
The police have failed yet to trace the suspect and sought NADRA help for his identification.
Karachi: Gulistan-e-Johar police on Friday registered First Information Report (FIR) against a s suspect involved in sexually assaulting a woman in the metropolitan city.
The Sindh government lodged the FIR against the incident which shocked the people and raised serious questions about the safety, security of the citizen, and especially the women and children in the city.
The culprit is still at large and the police despite huge pressure failed to trace him.
According to the police, the geo-fencing was conducted and CCTV footages of the surrounding areas were obtained.
“Some footages show that the suspect was not wearing mask and NADRA has been approached for his identification,” said the police while talking to the media Friday.
They added, “We have also made the picture of the suspect public,”.
On Thursday, the obscene video of the suspect harassing a woman in a street in Gulistan-e-Johar area went viral on the social media. The video showed that the suspect arrived at the crime scene on his bike, took off his clothes and ran to the girl passing by, and tried to rape her. The victim who got terrified resisted against the assault attempt and was seen helpless.
Meanwhile, the harasser returned to his bike and successfully ran away from the scene.
