Mohammad Hafeez congratulates Zaka Ashraf on his appointment as head of Pakistan Cricket Board.

Lahore: Zaka Ashraf, the chairman of the recently established PCB management committee, on Friday extended multiple job offers to Mohammad Hafeez, a former Pakistan cricketer.
In a meeting held on Thursday at the PCB headquarters in Lahore, Hafeez congratulated Ashraf on his appointment as the head of PCB.
During their discussion, Ashraf proposed two significant positions to Hafeez: the position of Pakistan's chief selector or a key role in the National Cricket Academy.
Expressing his gratitude, Hafeez thanked Ashraf and expressed his eagerness to contribute to the development of Pakistan cricket. However, he requested some time to consult with his family and friends before making a final decision about accepting the roles.
In an interview with Cricket Pakistan, Hafeez emphasized his commitment to bring about positive changes within the PCB. He stated that it would be an honor for him to serve Pakistan cricket, provided that he is given respect, authority, and the necessary support to fulfill his responsibilities.
Hafeez clarified that his motivation stems from a genuine ambition to elevate Pakistan cricket rather than monetary gains. He also praised Ashraf as a respected administrator and appreciated the offers extended to him during their meeting.
Recent changes in the PCB management committee led to the departure of Najam Sethi and the appointment of Zaka Ashraf as the new chairman. Consequently, the position of Chief Selector, previously held by Haroon Rashid, has become vacant, and a new appointment will be made in due course. Haroon Rashid confirmed to Cricket Pakistan that he is no longer associated with the board in any capacity.
There have been reports suggesting that other notable personalities in Pakistani cricket, including former captain Younis Khan, Mohsin Hassan Khan, and Saleem Yousaf, are also being considered for roles within the new setup. It is noteworthy that although Shoaib Akhtar's name was discussed, Zaka Ashraf ultimately decided against offering him a position in the PCB.
