Vijay Kumar, the Former Inspector General of Police, battled severe depression in recent weeks.


Tamil Nadu: Senior police officer in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu, D.I.G. (Deputy Inspector General) Vijay Kumar, has tragically taken his own life.
His body has been transferred to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for postmortem examination.
According to Indian media reports, D.I.G. Vijay Kumar, stationed in Coimbatore Range, reportedly shot himself outside his office with the service revolver of his personal security officer around 7 a.m. local time.
Reports state that prior to his assignment in Coimbatore, Vijay Kumar had served as the Superintendent of Police in several districts, including Kanchipuram, Kadalur, Nagapattinam, and Thiruvarur.
According to his colleagues, he had been battling severe depression for the past few weeks, leading to disturbed sleep patterns.
