Crackdown against online loan apps companies
Authorities took action in Islamabad against online loan app offices and sealed them.
Islamabad: Following a reported suicide attempt by an individual who faced threats from loan app employees in Rawalpindi, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) crackdown online loan app companies.
According to a spokesperson, the Cyber Crime Circle in Islamabad has sealed two offices of Loan Apps in Sector G-8.
During the operation, laptops and computers were confiscated from the premises.
Authorities have stated that illegal Loan Apps are also under scrutiny by the SECP (Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan), and further action will be taken against those involved in illegal activities.
A request will be submitted to the PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority) to block illegal Loan Apps.
According to the spokesperson, online promotion of illegal Loan Apps will also be blocked, and affected citizens can file complaints with the Cyber Crime Circle if they have been harassed.
