Pakistan-made ventilators not useful, reveals Shibli Faraz
Islamabad: The newly appointed Federal Minister for Science and Technology Shibli Faraz has said that the ventilators manufactured by Pakistan are not useful as they only fulfil 4 out of total 16 functions,
Talking to the media after he visited the National University of Sciences & Technology University in Islamabad, Shibli Faraz said that Pakistan doesn't have the oxygen and the necessary stock for the Corona Emergency while there are also problems in restarting the emergency procedure of the oxygen plant at the Steel Mills.
He said that discussions have been held with the Minister of Industries and Production regarding the steel mills plant however it will take time to start oxygen supply from steel mills in an emergency.
“If the plan worked then it would be a commendable job but it seems that there are problems,”
Shibli Faraz said that Pakistan will do whatsoever is possible to help India in the fight against coronavirus, however, it is a matter of humanity and the country sympathises with the neighbour.
"We have to take the country forward using local resources,"
He added that the government's duty is not to provide jobs to (citizens) but to provide an environment and opportunities for starting new businesses.
