Galle: In the first Test of the current series against Sri Lanka, left-handed middle-order batsman Saud Shakeel broke several records by striking a double century on Tuesday at the Galle International Stadium.
On Day 2 of the current first Test, when Pakistan was struggling at 101/5, Saud Shakeel entered the batting order and became the first Pakistani player to get a double century in a Test in Sri Lanka.
The middle order left-hander dazzled with his calm demeanor and saved his team with a record-breaking double century. With the aid of 19 boundaries, he managed to stay unbeaten at 203 off 352 deliveries.
With his double century, the left-handed batsman surpassed Mohammad Hafeez, who had hit 196 in Colombo, as the Pakistani player with the highest Test score in Sri Lanka.
