He said that we have laid the foundation stone of the country's first sports university and established a sports endowment fund.

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Wednesday expressed the commitment to ensure promotion of sports through various measures.
Turning to Twitter he said: “The measures will include the encouragement and support of talented and high-performing athletes, as well as providing them with training opportunities for international competitions”.
Shehbaz Sharif stated that he launched the Prime Minister's Youth initiative yesterday to provide opportunities to the youth to spend their energies in a positive manner.
Majority of Pakistan's population consists of youth but unfortunately there is a severe lack of facilities not only for local but also for international sports, added prime minister.
He continued to say that in this view, we have laid the foundation stone of the country's first sports university and established a sports endowment fund.
Recognizing that these steps are not adequate, the Prime Minister said: “It is a good beginning and hoped that future governments will ensure continuation of these initiatives”.
Shehbaz Sharif further said history is a witness that our talented youth whenever provided with an opportunity, raised the national flag with their great performances.
