Islamabad: The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has issued new restrictions for Eidul Fitr as country continues to battle the deadly third wave of the novel coronavirus.

According to details, all kind of tourism and travel has been banned across Pakistan during Eid holidays. The ban is effective from May 08 to May 16 and during this time tourist spots, parks, and hotels, restaurants, sea view and beaches will remain closed.
Timely SOPs to be prepared for Itekaf, Shab-e-Qadar, Friday prayers and Eid prayers
A complete ban has been imposed on inter-province and inter-city travel and only Gilgit-Baltistan residents will be allowed to travel back home.
Travel nodes leading to tourist spots will remain closed such as Murree, Galiyat, Swat, Kalam, and northern areas.
The notification issued added that the uninterrupted supply of electricity will be ensured to residents across the country.
The directives have been sent to the home departments of all provinces.
Pakistan is presently experiencing the third wave of coronavirus which is said to be deadlier and more contagious than previous two waves.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 4,487 cases of coronavirus were reported while 142 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 17,329.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 804,939. As many as 699,816 patients have recovered from the disease with 5,075 critical cases.
