The latest reports say that a couple shifted the body of the senior police officer to a private hospital in DHA area of the provincial capital.


Lahore: The Punjab police on Saturday started investigation into the perplexing death of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Shariq Jamal in Lahore.
According to reports, Jamal's body was brought to a private hospital in the DHA area by a man and his wife, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The incident took place at approximately 1:30 am, and the DIG was found at the couple's flat at the time of his demise. As authorities delve deeper into the case, the circumstances surrounding the sudden death remain unclear.
The unanticipated passing of DIG Shariq Jamal raised concerns, prompting a thorough inquiry by the authorities to shed light on the events leading to his death.
The body of DIG Shariq Jamal Khan was initially taken to the National Hospital but later transferred to Jinnah Hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
As news of his tragic death spread, a team of police officers promptly rushed to the hospital to oversee the investigation personally.
A case was registered based on the complaint filed by the deceased DIG's wife, adding another dimension to the ongoing investigation.
DIG Shariq Jamal Khan was currently serving as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) and had previously held prominent positions as DIG traffic and DIG railways during his dedicated career in law enforcement.
