Islamabad: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Monday made it prominent that the interim prime minister's name had not yet been decided.
Sherry Rehman, a prominent PPP figure, and Faisal Karim Kundi stated during a news conference that "no decision has yet been taken about the appointment of the caretaker prime minister. How can the PPP not be consulted before choosing the interim prime minister's name?
Everyone wants to see equal opportunities during the general elections. Inflation is currently a crippling problem for the general public. Everyone is aware of the economic challenges the country is experiencing, she added.
Kundi stated in the meantime that "No meeting has been held in Dubai." He stated that the PPP's lone demand was that elections be conducted in conformity with the law and the constitution.
"PPP election preparations are finished. The country needs to hold elections quickly, Kundi continued.
Earlier, it was reported that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) nominated Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar as the caretaker prime minister.
They claimed that in regards to Dar's nomination, the party had faith in the PPP and the other coalition members.
The advisory committees of the PPP and PML-N are anticipated to meet shortly, according to sources, therefore there is a chance that Dar's nomination may be agreed upon during meetings of the top leadership of both parties.
They added that the interim setup would be trusted to the federal cabinet.
