Ogra increased the tariff for the Sui Northern Gas by 50% and the Sui Southern Gas by 42% on average.

Islamabad: The Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) approves massive increase in gas tariff on Monday.
Since the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) increased the tariff for the Sui Northern Gas by 50% and the Sui Southern Gas by 42% on average, households that have been impacted by inflation will now need to change their monthly budget to account for extra expenses.
It indicates that a Sui Northern gas user will pay an additional price of Rs415.55 per MMBtu (Metric Million British Thermal Unit), whereas a Sui Southern gas consumer will pay an increase of Rs417 per MMBtu.
The action comes after the federal cabinet last week approved a significant increase in the energy base cost, from Rs3.50 to Rs7.96 per unit, through circulation as Pakistan moves to comply with the strict IMF requirements under the $3 billion stand-by agreement.
