Lahore: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif laid the foundation stone of three new industrial zones in Lahore and Sheikhupura on Monday.
The premier claimed that the private sector had expressed interest in the creation of economic zones while speaking at the ceremony to lay the cornerstone for three new industrial zones in Lahore and Sheikhupura.
He stated that there shouldn't be any real estate businesses in industrial zones and added that, regrettably, many industrial zones, including Faisalabad, Rishkai, and others, were being improperly used on a large scale and had been invaded by developers despite being economic zones. He made it clear that those responsible for this were acting improperly.
Shehbaz emphasized that real estate should be conducted in areas suitable for this type of business, noting that the dealers should erect skyscrapers with zeal but only in appropriate locations—not in industrial zones.
The PM added that the myth of Pakistan's default had been destroyed and expressed hope that the caretaker administration, which would assume office next month, would endeavor to strengthen the country's economy.
The Omber Special Economic Zone, Sundar Green Zone, and Smart Special Economic Zone were three special economic zones that the chief executive previously lay the cornerstones for in Lahore and Sheikhupura. He also signed the plaques for the projects.
