Islamabad: Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar has said that over 100,000 people were vaccinated against coronavirus during the past 24 hours.

Taking to twitter, the minister shared that a total of 117,852 people were vaccinated in 24 hours, which is the highest number of people inoculated in a day in the country.
He further said that 2.1 million people have been vaccinated against the virus so far.
"Good to see more people registering. Please encourage all those 40 and above to register, if they have not done so far," he added.

Pakistan has also started walk-in vaccination facility for people over 50 from today, while people above 40 can start registering themselves for inoculation.
Meanwhile, today Pakistan recorded 201 coronavirus-linked fatalities, country’s highest single-day death toll since May 2020, as the country continued to deal with the third wave of Covid-19.
As per NCOC, around 5,292 cases of coronavirus were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 17,530. The total number of confirmed cases reached to 810,231.
As many as 704,494 patients have recovered from the disease with 5,214 critical cases.
