The Global Hunger Index is a pre-reviewed annual report that Welthungerhilfe and Concern Worldwide jointly produce in an effort to increase public awareness and understanding of the fight against hunger.
Pakistan is now 99th out of the 121 nations with enough data to calculate 2022 GHI scores in the most recent rankings. Pakistan has a serious level of hunger with a score of 26.1.
According to the most recent Global Hunger Index report, armed conflicts, climate change, and the coronavirus pandemic are all getting worse. As a result, up to 828 million people were forced to go hungry in 2021.
South of the Sahara and South Asia continue to have the highest rates of hunger in Africa. The highest child stunting and wasting rates are seen in South Asia, which also has the highest incidence of hunger in the entire world.
