LHC grants protective bail to judge's wife in maid torture case

Lahore: The Lahore high court (LHC) on Thursday granted protective bail to wife of a civil judge in the case of the tortured maid in Sargodha.

It is important to note that a complaint has been filed in Islamabad police station against the spouse of a civil judge.
Earlier, the wife (Somia Asim) of a civil judge in Islamabad is accused of torturing a 14-year-old maid indignantly, and the girl's parents have reported the incident to the local police station.
The wife of a civil judge, Asim Hafeez, who was assigned to the Federal Judicial Academy in Sargodha, is accused of torturing her maid, Rizwana, after accusing her of stealing gold jewelry.
According to the maid's family, the civil judge's wife brutally tormented the girl when she was a servant at her husband's residence in Islamabad for six months. They further stated that the girl was not paid any salary by the owners.
Police said that more than 15 torture marks were found on the affected girl’s face and body. The seriously wounded maid was immediately shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for medical assistance.
The doctors of the DHQ Hospital referred the girl to the Lahore Hospital for further treatment. Police said that the torture case will be lodged at a police station in Islamabad.
