Islamabad: Teenager housemaid namely Rizwana who was allegedly subjected to torture at the residence of a judicial officer in Islamabad recorded her statement to the police.
The father of the victim girl also recorded his statement, explaining the appalling incident.
According to the spokesperson of Islamabad police, the victim, Rizwana, bravely confirmed the allegations of torture, pinpointing the judicial officer's wife as the perpetrator. The girl's father expressed his unwavering determination to seek justice for his daughter and firmly rejected any possibility of reconciliation.
Assuring prompt action, the police launched a comprehensive investigation into the matter. They vowed to hold all individuals involved in this heinous crime accountable, in accordance with the law. As the case involves child labor, which is a punishable offense, the relevant provisions would be meticulously considered during the investigation, said the police authorities.
The incident came to light after the parents of the 14-year-old maid lodged a formal complaint at a local police station in Islamabad. The girl had been working as a maid at the residence of civil judge Asim Hafeez, who is deputed at the Federal Judicial Academy in Sargodha. According to the girl's family, she endured brutal torture at the hands of the civil judge's wife, who accused her of stealing gold jewelry.
Furthermore, the family disclosed that despite working for six months as a maid, the young girl did not receive any wages for her services. When examined by medical professionals, more than 15 visible torture marks were discovered on the girl's face and body, indicating the severity of the abuse she endured.
Upon immediate discovery of the victim's condition, she was swiftly shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for medical assistance. Subsequently, the medical team referred her to Lahore Hospital for further treatment.
