A Hameed: Creator of ‘Ainak Wala Jin’ remembered on death anniversary
Legendary writer of acclaimed Pakistani drama ‘Ainak Wala jin’ Abdul Hameed is being remembered on his 10th death anniversary on Thursday (today). He is one of the most celebrated novelists Pakistan has ever produced with over 200 novels to his credit.

Abdul Hameed, known simply as A Hameed remains to this day the most popular children’s author of Pakistan and apart from writing short stories and novels, he also wrote columns for national newspapers.
Hameed’s first collection of short stories titled Manzil Manzil received great praise from readers and made him a well-recognized short story writer.
His most famous books include Urdu She’r Ki Dastan, Urdu Nasr ki Dastan (in which he compiled information on the works of Urdu prose writers), Mirza Ghalib, Dastango Ashfaq Ahmad and Mirza Ghalib Lahore Main.
Famous Urdu fiction writer penned many programmes for Radio and TV which had got tremendous acknowledgement from listeners and viewers.
His famous books includes Urdu Shahr Ki Dastan, Urdu Nasr Ki Dastan, Mirza Ghalib, Dastango Ashfaq Ahmad and Mirza Ghalib Lahore mai.
Abdul Hameed, was born in 1928 in Amritsar began his career from Jaffar Shah Bukhari’s film, Anjaam, in 1957 and joined Radio Pakistan as an assistant script editor after working some years there, he joined Voice of America (VoA).
The renowned writer passed away at the age of 83 on April 29, 2011 in Rawalpindi.
