PM orders inquiry against Pakistan Embassy in Saudi Arabia over demanding money from labors
Islamabad: The Prime Minister Imran Khan has ordered an inquiry against Pakistani Embassy in Saudi Arabia for not facilitating Pakistani labors there and allegedly demanding money from them.

While addressing overseas Pakistanis in connection with Roshan Digital Account reaching a milestone of one billion dollars, Imran Khan said that he has summoned an envoy in Saudi Arabia in connection with complaints received by overseas Pakistanis.
“Pakistani embassy in Saudi Arabia used to take money from laborers. I have ordered an inquiry against the envoy there. Those responsible will be given exemplary punishment,” he said.
Imran Khan further stated that overseas Pakistanis have saved the economy of this country and it is unfortunate to say that our embassies are not treating these hard working people well.
"These [overseas Pakistanis] are very special. We can't give them jobs here, which is why they are forced to work away from their families," he said adding,
“I want to send a message to the embassies that your primary responsibility is to take care of the working class living abroad. It is learned that the Pakistani embassy in Saudi Arabia did not do what it was supposed to do for Pakistani workers. I am conducting an inquiry and recalling as many staff as possible and will take action against those held responsible.”
Imran Khan further appreciated the contribution of overseas Pakistan in uplifting the country’s economy and felicitated Governor State Bank of Pakistan Reza Baqir over the milestone achieved by the Roshan Digital Accounts.
Two initiatives ‘Roshan Apni Car’ and ‘Roshan Samaaji Khidmat’ were launched by Imran Khan under the Under Roshan Digital Accounts.
Through the initiative of ‘Under Roshan Apni Car’, the Roshan Digital Card Holders can avail financing at very attractive terms to purchase a car for their loved ones in Pakistan.
Under ‘Roshan Samaaji Khidmat’, it will be very easier for Roshan Digital Account holders to give donations and Zakat. They will also be able to make donations directly to the government’s Ehsaas program.
