Lahore: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cyber Crime unit has apprehended a foreign national in Lahore for his involvement in online loan app fraud, where he obtained citizens' data and sent them fraudulent messages.
The suspect, identified as Jian Li Yang from Gulberg, is believed to be the mastermind behind the online loan app scam.
According to FIA officials, Yang had been operating in Pakistan for the past 10 months and had employed several locals to assist him in his fraudulent activities.
The FIA revealed that the suspect acquired citizens' data through the online loan app and used it to send misleading messages, scamming hundreds of people.
Yang has confessed to defrauding numerous individuals, and an investigation has been initiated against him.
