The prime minister criticized the outdated habit of unjustly criticizing and persecuting capable officers.

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday expressed his appreciation to the bureaucracy for its assistance and leadership over the course of the coalition government's 16-month tenure, which allowed it to navigate challenging circumstances.
The premier noted during his farewell session with the federal secretaries that despite having a 13-party coalition government that was extremely diverse, it managed its duties with the highest cooperation and caution, serving as an example of how a coalition government may be effective.
According to him, the bureaucracy encountered various challenging situations over the course of the 16 months, but the desire to take positive action for Pakistan's citizens paved the way.
The prime minister criticized the outdated habit of unjustly criticizing and persecuting capable officers, which had a negative effect on public service.
PM claimed that, like politicians, officers also suffered victimization and had their families hounded.
He claimed that as a result of some of the young people choosing to enlist in other services, the civil service suffered a significant blow during the devolution.
Prime Minister Shehbaz urged for the establishment of strong processes to ensure the smooth execution of projects after mentioning the systematic delays in the 10,000MW solar energy project.
Shehbaz claimed that the current government made sure that several public welfare initiatives that the previous government had put on hold were completed.
The signing of the IMF agreement, the prime minister added, was a major accomplishment of his administration because without it, the situation could have been devastating for the nation.
He claimed that the federal secretaries deserved credit for all of the accomplishments made by the government because they had worked diligently under trying conditions, including floods.
PM said the projects being funded by foreign grants were also impeded by the previous government as they never wanted the respective government to claim the credit.
The prime minister thanked his special assistants, personal staff and media team for their cooperation and services.
