Gujranwala: Punjab government has failed to save the citizens from risks posed by kite string as a young man has been killed after the string slit his throat near Baghbanpura Chowk in Gujranwala on Sunday.

According to details, the victim Sadiq (30) was on his way back to home when a kite string fell on him, slitting his throat open.
Sadiq was rushed to hospital in area but did not sustained his injuries and died even before reaching to the hospital.
Earlier in January, the Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar imposed a complete ban on Basant festival across the province.
A few days ago, a 33-year-old man was injured due to a kite string at Wahdat Road in Lahore.
In April, a Faisalabad man known as Zeeshan was on his way back to home on a motorcycle when a kite string fell on him, slitting his throat in factory area. He died on the spot.
