Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Ghulam Ali accepted the resignations of the caretaker ministers, advisors and dissolved the provincial cabinet on Friday.

The governor dissolved the cabinet after receiving a briefing from acting chief minister Mohammad Azam Khan.

The caretaker cabinet will be dissolved in due time, according to a notification that will be issued by the chief secretary.

Azam Khan received the resignations of 25 members of his government, which prompted him to send a summary to the governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which he did. The governor immediately dissolved the cabinet.

Azam Khan, the acting chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, received resignation letters from 19 members of the province's interim government, including interim information minister Feroze Jamal.

This action was conducted in compliance with the Election Commission of Pakistan's (ECP) instructions.

The ECP had asked the acting chief minister last month to swiftly dismiss ministers, advisers, and special assistants engaging in political activities in response to a petition submitted by Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, the leader of the PTI in KP, and signed by 52 former members of the provincial assembly (MPAs).

Prior to the 2018 general elections, the province's electoral procedure was to be made fair and impartial.

Since January, KP has been headed by a caretaker government after the PTI chairman made a commitment to separate his party from the corrupt political system in place by resigning from assembly where his party had influence.

Jamal stated that the chief minister had informed them of the ECP's authority to choose a new interim cabinet free of any party allegiances. He then submitted his resignation, along with those of the other 18 members. When they returned, other people who weren't in Peshawar would likewise offer their resignation; if they couldn't, they would be formally dismissed the next day.
