Authorities have disclosed that out of those captured, 9 individuals within the TTP, while 4 are identified as pivotal commanders with links to ISIS.


Lahore: Pakistan's Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has taken swift action against suspected militants, leading to the arrest of 21 individuals associated with banned extremist organizations.
Officials have revealed that among those apprehended, 9 are high-ranking members of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), and 4 are key commanders affiliated with the Islamic State (ISIS).
The authorities have shared that these arrests took place across several cities, including Nowshera, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Muzaffargarh, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore, Attock, and Sahiwal, as part of a proactive approach to address potential security threats.
The CTD's intelligence highlights that the militants were involved in arms smuggling and grenade manufacturing, and was also found with significant amounts of cash.
They had reportedly been devising dangerous plots, prompting the initiation of investigations.
In the past week alone, CTD operations have resulted in the detention of 49 individuals under suspicion, while more than 29,000 people were questioned during these combined operations, emphasizing the government's commitment to ensuring public safety.
