The Chief Justices of High Courts assured to form a special bench for the decisions of cases pending for years.


Islamabad: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Atta Bandial Saturday said that protecting the constitution and fundamental rights is the constitutional responsibility of judiciary, while addressing the meeting of Judicial Policy Making Committee.
According to details, the Judicial Committee has decided to complete the recruitment of the vacant posts of judges soon.
The Chief Justice of the five High Courts and the Secretary of Law and Justice Commission participated in the meeting of National Judicial Policy Making Committee under the chairmanship of Chief Justice.
Judiciary strives to deliver low cost and quick justice. Judges, court staff and lawyers should use modern technology, added Bandial.
He added that frivolous pleas should be discouraged, the arbitration system is the best way to resolve disputes as it will reduce the burden of cases on the judiciary.
