Three killed, 80 injured in aerial firing in Karachi
80 people, including 3 children were injured in air firing in different areas of Karachi on the occasion of Independence Day.
Karachi: At least three people killed and 80 injured in aerial firing incident in Karachi on Monday.
According to rescue sources, On the occasion of Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day, a series of aerial firing commenced in various areas of the metropolis, including Liaquatabad, Liyari, Garden, Mahmoodabad, Landhi, Korangi, New Karachi, and Bilal Colony.
According to Rescue, 80 people, including 3 children, were injured in air firing in different areas of Karachi on the occasion of Independence Day, after which the injured have been shifted to different hospitals for medical assistance.
Rescue sources mentioned that a young man who was injured due to aerial firing in Mahmoodabad, was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
As per the sources, a 25-year-old woman named Bisma died after being hit by a bullet fired from an unknown direction near the Exhibition Chowrangi. A man named Abdul Wahab died during treatment due to a bullet fired from an unknown direction in Lyari.
Furthermore, 24 people injured in air firing have been transferred to Civil Hospital, 29 people to Jinnah Hospital and 30 injured to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
Meanwhile, the video of aerial firing in Gulistan-e-Johar went viral on social media. It can be clearly seen in the video that the armed men, including both big and small, are firing heavily in the air with heavy weapons.
Despite the video going viral, the police have not yet arrested anyone involved in the shooting.
