The JI leader also urged people to participate in his party's peaceful protest against rising petrol prices.

Lahore: The Jamat-e-Islami (JUI) emir Sirjul Haq on Wednesday made a call for a nationwide protest against the recent massive spike in petroleum prices.
Haq claimed that by raising the price of diesel and petrol, the caretaker government had supported the unjust policies of the departing coalition government.
He referred to it as an injustice to the nation's poor people and claimed that the country's leaders were exerting pressure on them to appease the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
He pleaded with the interim government to assist those in need.
Furthermore, the JI leader also urged people to participate in his party's peaceful protest against rising petrol prices.
Earlier, caretaker government increased the price of petrol by Rs17.50 per litre, taking the price to record high of Rs290.45 per litre.
The price of high-speed diesel was also increased by Rs20 per litre. After the increase, high speed diesel will be available at Rs293.40 per litre.
