The Indian Government accused the website of inciting terrorism and spreading fake news in occupied Jammu Kashmir.


Srinagar: Indian government has blocked the website of a prominent media company in Srinagar.
According to the media report, Modi ordered to close all social media accounts of the Srinagar –based media organization.
The owner and founding editor, Fahad Shah was arrested last year under the Anti-Terrorism Act. The owner was accused of inciting terrorism and spreading fake news and is still detained in Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu.
In addition to that Sajjad Gul, the contributor of the website, was arrested in January and is still incarcerated in a jail in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
Indian media hasn’t officially revealed the closure of the Kashmiri website.
It is reported that India arrested several journalists in 2019 after ending the special status of Occupied Kashmir.
The Former Chief Minister of Occupied Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti has condemned the closure of the website.
She stated that another media organization that dared to speak the truth is silenced.
Apart from this, DigiPub News India Foundation, a representative organization of Indian news organizations, also condemned in its statement and said that the closure of the website without prior notice is an act of intimidation of journalists in Occupied Kashmir.
