Islamabad: First Lady Begum Samina Alvi said that women participation is inevitable for development and economic growth of the country.
She was speaking at an international conference on 'Globalizing Women Entrepreneurship' organized by Faisalabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Islamabad on Wednesday.
The First Lady emphasized on creating a conducive environment for women to enable them contribute actively by optimally utilizing their talents.
She suggested that financial incentives, promoting gender-sensitive policies, creating a women-friendly and harassment-free work environment, and establishing mechanisms for easy access to loans specifically tailored for women entrepreneurs will encourage more women in business.
Samina Alvi called for focusing on skill development and easy access to education for women.
Speaking on the occasion, Special Assistant to Caretaker Prime Minister on Women Empowerment and Human Rights Mishaal Malik urged women to play active role in financial activities to ensure socio-economic development of the country.
