Shah Mahmood Qureshi was arrested and sent to jail for a four-day physical remand by the Special Court.
Islamabad: Shah Mahmood Qureshi has been presented in court after the completion of his physical remand.
Qureshi was brought before the court on charges of alleged involvement in subversive activities in Islamabad.
Last week, Shah Mahmood Qureshi was apprehended, and he was placed under a four-day physical remand by the Special Court. The remand was granted by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) until August 25.
The FIA had arrested Shah Mahmood Qureshi, a prominent PTI leader, in the vicinity of his residence in Islamabad, along with a heavy police presence.
Following his arrest, he was transported to the FIA headquarters.
Sources have stated that an extensive investigation into the suspected espionage case is underway, with the FIA beginning to collect records related to the case.
It is reported that all records of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have been obtained, and further inquiries will be conducted with the help of videos and other materials from Islamabad.
In connection with the suspected espionage case, a case numbered 6/2023 was filed against Shah Mahmood Qureshi under the Anti-Terrorism Act in the FIA's Counter Terrorism Wing on August 15 by Secretary Interior Yousuf Naseem Khokhar.
