Islamabad: Pakistan has reported 140 Covid-related fatalities and 4,298 new cases in one day as country is presently experiencing the third wave of coronavirus which is said to be deadlier and more contagious than previous two waves.

According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 4,298 cases of coronavirus were reported while 140 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 18,677.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 850,132.
As many as 743,124 patients have recovered from the disease with 5,107 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 312,522 in the province with 8,809 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 288,680 in the province, while the death toll has reached 4,691.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 121,728 in the province with 3,497 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 22,900 confirmed cases while 240 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 17,583 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 494. On the other hand, there are 5,355 cases in GB with 107 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 77,065 cases in the capital city while 699 people have lost their lives.
