United nations: Interim Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar is likely to attend the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), which opens on September 5.
According to reports, interim PM Kakar will be the first to represent Pakistan at the UN General Assembly.
He will be addressing the UN summit on September 22 and he would return the same day after delivering his speech.
The interim premier will be accompanied by a small delegation that includes the acting foreign minister, Syed Jalil Abbas Jilani, the acting minister of information and broadcasting, Murtaza Solangi, the acting minister of climate change and law, and the acting minister of parliamentary and water resources affairs, Ahmad Irfan Aslam.
According to a press release from the UN, the high-level general debate featuring world leaders began on September 19th.
The caretaker government of Pakistan will attend the UNGA session, according to Ambassador Munir Akram, Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the UN, who made the announcement last week.
The UN General Assembly declared January 26 to be the International Day of Clean Energy earlier this week after Pakistan and Panama sponsored the resolution.
