Asia Cup: Pakistan, Nepal teams leaved for Sri Lanka after opening match
After the opening match, the teams of Pakistan and Nepal have left for Colombo in a special flight from Multan.
Multan: After the opening match of Asia Cup 2023 in Multan, the teams of Pakistan and Nepal have left for Sri Lanka to play further matches.
In the opening match of the Asia Cup 2023 on Wednesday, Pakistan defeated Nepal by 238 runs after a one-sided contest.
In the first match of the Asia Cup played in Multan, Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat against Nepal.
The national team set Nepal a mountain target of 343 runs thanks to the brilliant batting of captain Babar Azam and Iftikhar Ahmed.
Babar Azam scored his 19th ODI century against Nepal and played a brilliant innings of 151 runs while Iftikhar Ahmed remained unbeaten with an aggressive innings of 109 runs off 71 balls.
In reply, the visiting team was bowled out for 104 runs in the 24th over.
After the opening match, the teams of Pakistan and Nepal have left for Colombo in a special flight from Multan.
According to reports, Pakistan team will depart from Colombo by bus to Kandy.
It is pertinent to note that important match of Asia Cup between Pakistan and India will be played on September 02 in Pali Kele, while Nepal team will face India on September 04.
The Asia Cup tournament is being played under the hybrid model in which four matches of the event will be held in Pakistan and nine matches in Sri Lanka.
