The current week witnessed an increase in inflation of 0.54 percent, while the annual inflation rate was recorded at 27.57 percent.


Islamabad: The trend of rising inflation continues in the country as the weekly inflation price reached 0.54 percent on Friday.
According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics' (PBS) weekly inflation report, the current week witnessed an increase in inflation of 0.54 percent, while the annual inflation rate was recorded at 27.57 percent.
According to the PBS, eight items' prices have dropped this past week while 23 other things' pricing have stayed the same.
However, there was an increase in the cost of several commodities and items. Prices for potatoes, fresh milk, curd, and mung beans also went up. Prices for rice climbed by Rs 2 per kg, LPG by Rs 11, eggs by Rs 2 per dozen, lentil mash by Rs 7 per kg, a 20 kg bag of flour by Rs 3, and 5 kg of cooking oil by Rs 17.
Earlier, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has raised the rates of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for the month of September in response to the recent spike in petrol prices.
The price of a household LPG cylinder has been set at Rs 459.85 following a rise in LPG prices of Rs 38.97 per kilogram, as per the information.
The official announcement of an increase in LPG pricing has been made by OGRA. For the month of September, new, raised prices are in effect.
It is important to note that for the month of August, the cost of an LPG cylinder was set at Rs 2,373.64.
Furthermore. Many homes and companies are worried about their budgets as a result of the September LPG price increase.
